Code enforcement Rose Bull is shown with a 2 year old female, Sheba Inu. That is looking for a home. you may contact Bull through the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 345-2244 if you can give this dog a home.
Last week Rose Bull, Code Enforcement Officer for Washington County, helped to transport unneutered cats from Yum and Washington Counties to Denver for special free clinic. Dr. Jeff Young and his crew at Planned Pethood Plus performed 320 spay and neuters on that single day. Pet owners are encouraged to have their dogs and cats payed or neutered because so many dogs and cats are born each year, causing
overpopulation and the euthanization or abandonment of literally thousands of dogs and cats each year.
Did you know?
An unspayed female cat, her mate and all of their offspring, producing 2 litter per year, with 2.8 surviving kittens per year can total 11,606,077 cats in 9 years. Source: Spay USA

Some pet guardians allow their pets to have a litter for their child to witness ‘the miracle of birth’. The child still may not witness this, as pregnant females often seclude themselves from prying eyes when birthing time comes. And if ‘learning’ is the goal, the lesson, taken to its completion, will include the euthanization of unwanted animals in the shelters.and the suffering of those abandoned. The fact remains: there are too many pets, not enough good homes, and
this exercise in ‘education’ has served only to contributing further to pet overpopulation.

Officer Bull gives special thanks to all of those who helped transport the cats as part of this project from Yuma and Washington County to Denver. Thanks to Tara Hazel for helping with the flyer and to Emily Hall, Tony Valdez and Susan Bruder for their help collecting the cats at the pound and transportation to the clinic. After the clinic, the cats were returned to Akron and their owners. Rig hugs and thank yous to Dr. Jeff young and his crew at Planned Pethood Plus for holding the clinic. They performed 320 spay and neuters on that single day. This could not have happened without all the help.
